But if you have a Thyroid disease you know it will not let you off the hook for long. It will sneak up on you and kick your butt again when you least expect it. So here I am back on the job. I have good news and bad.
The good news is ; now that we are living back in our small home town I am feeling a lot better. My eyes do not hurt and water so much because there is no smog or pollution here. I still wear my sun glass's a lot but I can now go sit in the shade with out them . Well for a little bit, lol. I also have a great Doctor who is willing to work with me and listen to me. Wahoo. As some of you may know I go to a new doctor with a notebook with all my medical information. Even has X-rays. It includes my EKG's, and Lab, appointments and all info from weight to vital. Before going to the doctor the 1st page has my questions and things bothering me. So when I walked in this new doctors office I am ready. The nurse was impressed because I just handed her a paper with all my health information . She just had to copy. This doctor actually sat and talked to me for almost 2 hrs . I told him Synthroid and Levoxitine made me sick and did nothing for me and I wanted Amour. He had his lap top and asked where do you want to pick it up. Sent it straight out himself. I liked him more and more by the minute. He made sure I had an appointment with another doctor to do my Pap and another appointment for a memmogram. Dang where has this doctor been hiding? This is almost unheard of in our Thyroid world.
So I go see the other doctor the next week and she does the Pap and also 2 biopsies. You see I had been bleeding off and on for a month. Next thing I know I go for an viginal ultra sound and EKG and Monday I go for a DNC. She did not get a good enough reading from the biopsie and the ultra sound. So she will do a DNC to check out the bad cells she found.
So that is the bad news...going in for a DNC. But also good news as I will find out what the .....is wrong with me. I have found out that it is not unusual for a women with a Thyroid disease to have unusual bleeding. And at 66 and not having had a period for over 15 years... well I would say that is unusual.
I am happy to report that I am very happy with my 2 new doctors. One my regular Doctor and the other my GN. No I do not have an Endo. I do not think I need one. Also I am happy to report that I now do not drop off to sleep in my food or every time I sit down. I am not sleeping 12-18 hrs a day any more. I sleep 8-9 hours at night and maybe a 1-2 hr nap in the after noon. I also do not get up 6-7 times a night. Now maybe once or twice. I seem to be getting more energy and not so sluggish. My ambition is coming back. So for me the new doctors and the Amour are working....Yahoo.
I will keep you updated about my DNC next week. I am hoping it is not a big thing...maybe just a Dust and Clean job. Now for my Coffee Break and a good book. "To all my friends I never met before"
