" Why is it that "Fat Chance" and "Slim Chance" means the same thing?????? by Eugene Smith
I was reminded about forgetfulness today. Those of us that have a Thyroid Disease seem to get it a lot. No matter how old we are so we can not blame it just on getting old. I know people with a Thyroid Disease that are in their 20's and some are very forgetful. This can be very serious for some of us. I forget how to spell simple words. How sad to have to ask a nine year old how to spell a simple word. I was writing my little poem "I have Graves' ...It Does Not Have Me". I spelled the word wrong and used the wrong word. My nine year old grandson, Esai caught it. ( I use to spell his name SIE, but that is another story, lol) I was to send it to the printers that day. Well, I decided to leave all the mistakes in my poems. Why???? To remind me of them. It is such a little thing. Not many catch the mistake. When they question me about it I tell them why the mistake is there. It brings a smile every time. So, I am glad I did it. We have to be reminded of little things. We also have to be reminded to smile....because it is such a little thing. So we forget, so what? When a person with out Thyroid Disease reads my poem and does not see the mistake...well it makes me smile. It makes me realize my forgetfulness is NOT the end of the world that I thought it was. So, when you read my poem , maybe you will find the mistake because you know it is there. Maybe you won't.......but, does it really matter? You get the meaning of the poem because you have been there.
