My husband wrote this today about a picture of a Marine who on his own stood watch over a school. No weapon ...just in combat uniform . Letting people know somebody was watching. If more of us did this instead of wasting time talking about things not important. Our schools and our children would be safe.
Louis Marty Martinez I hate posting on this Face Book. But this really got to me. And before something is said that you may be sorry for later.. For all of you who are so ready to run your mouth, condeme and creticize anyone who takes it up on themselves to protect schools with children without the influence of others. You are very ignorant, stupit and sorry people. Before you go about saying something about anyone...you should get your facts correct and in order. Make sure that you know what your talking about. If you don't like somethings give a reason for that dislike. If you don't like the President, that is your business. But remember President Obama is YOUR President. Who won the election. The Marine who stood guard in front of this school all day with out a weapon, with out water, with out help from any one deserves a Big Simper Fi from every Marine and everyone else. I am a retired combat Airborne Ranger and I know that I can wear combat fatigues or my dress Uniform any time any place with out fear of reprisal from anyone. The President of the United States, any ranking officer of any military service of the United States. You people who are so ready to voice stupidities, you go and stand guard at any school to keep violence from happening the way this great Marine did. You should all be proud of him...I AM. If you can not do that go find yourself a corner to hide in and cover your head. All others Thank him and everyone else like him. Now is not the time to use this great deed to say something bad about OUR President . Now is the time to stand in front of our schools together This is an update on things you can put in a bag for the Homeless. We now have people in 20 states and 22 Countries sharing this project. Check us out on Face Book for more ideas and pictures. Such a small thing to do please join us and like the Face Book page to encourage others also tweet. WE can not give a bag to ALL the homeless but we sure can give it a good shot.

One week ago we launched this bags for the homeless project. We now have a minimum of over 500 bags that have gone out just this week. My goal was 1st 100 bags...then 500 by Christmas. So now I do not know what goal to set. We have people from NJ to Alaska. From Jamaica to London making up bags to give out to the home less. Please consider this project. We are not asking for money or anything accept a bit of your time and a few things you may already have around your house to put in a bag to give to the homeless. Don't think you have nothing to give because you do. Do you have a gallon size plastic bag or a large hanky. That is a start. Look around. An extra bar of soap? some condiments from the fast food joint, some band aids, some safety pins, a juice pouch, a pop tart or little debbies, an extra scarf, left over Halloween candy bars, an extra marker and pen (they can always use that), a paper back book. The list is endless. But, you get the idea. Use your imagination. Remember these people carry every thing they own in them They can not carry much. But, you can put a lot in a bag. The food will be gone the same day so I try to put enough for a small meal. Might be all they eat all day. They could use some cough drops about now. Just think how bad you feel with the flu. Think how it would be sleeping on the street with the flu.. We now have a Face Book Page http:/facebook.com/SomeBodyCaresProject
Please join us there or on the Event....Look for our little green bag on the event page and the little blue bag on the Face Book page. The Blue bag will be our Logo as we have decided to make this a year long project. Please share this information with everybody you know. This is a great family project to teach our kids about giving to others. Feed back and in put is always appreciated. Thank You Please join my Somebody Cares Project for December. It is such a small thing to do for a homeless person. I am Loving this Idea!! Check it out!! I just need to add...not everyone wants to or can accept gifts. Please acknowledge each person's right to refuse and graciously accept who they are. Perhaps all they need is a kind word now and at some other time they may be able to accept a gift!! ♥.
