So many interesting and informative groups have been emailing in to be on the talk show and to give support. Thank You. I just got a message from the CLL Watch and Wait Warriors, they are a Leukemia Survivor group. They believe in an anti cancer life style. Check them out. Since the Thyroid Disease leaves us wide open for other auto immune disease's I think it is important to know about as many of them as we can. Yes it is a lot of information. But just the little know fact that those of us with a Thyroid Condition are now more likely to get another auto immune disease is worth knowing about. Listen to up coming talk shows . Many topics concerning Thyroid Cancer and other cancer plus so much information all concerning the Thyroid and little and big things we can do to live a healthy and more calming life. Stress is a big problem with thyroid people. Yes everybody is stressed at one time or another in different ways. But a person with a Thyroid Condition feels actually sick and some land up in the hospital. WE can get very very depressed. Many of us not only look like we are going crazy we feel like we are. Many years ago people with Graves' Disease were actually committed to mental hospitals. It wasn't till Dr.'s like Dr Graves' and others saw the connection and realized we were not mental patients but had a thyroid disease. My own great grandmother was thought to be a bit crazy at times for the things she did. My g-grandfather would take her out to sit under the tree's and calm her and than she would be ok. Little things upset her. Once she got upset because the water on the stove was not boiling fast enough for her. Another time She got mad at us for being on her side of the house. My g-grandfather had to divide the house in half because of the outburst. She had the whole upstairs, kitchen, living room and dining room. He had the library, a small bedroom and a sun porch. The stairway divided the house and we had to ask permission to go in to the kitchen. So we have come a long way but not long enough. Awareness is very much needed. And who better to put it out there but each of us in our small way. There is a reason for everything I believe. I think living around my grandmother and her later coming to live in our house when my g-grandfather died was a lesson for me to use today. I can better understand what my own husband has had to deal with in me have Grave's disease. I have lived with a person with Graves' Disease and know how upset I got with my g-grandmother and how I thought she was so mean. I feel bad about it now, but it taught me a very valuable lesson that helps me deal with my disease now.
