Makes you wonder..... Whats the deal here. I get so upset reading all the side effects my meds can have. Then I wonder is it even worth the risk taking the meds. By taking my meds am I putting myself in for more health problems? If my doctor is not listening to me but just looking at a chart of what the nurse and lab wrote down am I setting myself up for no help. Does that doctor just see $$$$$$ from my insurance every time I walk in the door? My last doctor appointment cost $180.00. The doctor was in there with me ...what 5-10 minutes maybe. Maybe another 5 for the nurse to take my blood pressure. I am being generous here. So 15 minutes they gave me...comes to $12.00 a minute or $720.00 an hour. Say the doctor see's 24 patient's a day. That is a 6 hr day...6 x $ 720.00 = $4,320.00 a day. Say he works a 4 day week...4 x $ 4,320.00 = $17,280.00 a week and .$$69,120 a month. I do not even get that much a year. And I can not get better care then I do. What is wrong with this picture? None of us break it down like this. I never even thought about it before. I am not saying all doctors are not paying attention to us. But we all hear it a little to much...a doctor not paying attention to us. If I am going to pay $180 a visit I want some darn good service. I want more then 10-15 minutes of their time. Just for fun . The next time you go in to see your doctor and sign in look at the sign in sheet. How much time is there between appointments. I am going to take a picture of it next time I go in. What are camera phones for any way. Like I said before . When I take my car in to be repaired and the mechanic just gives me a price without even looking at my car...well I am out the door. If I go into a store and get bad service ...I complain. I(f I still get bad service I shop some where else. If I buy a phone and it don't work right...it is going back and being replaced. I guess we will just have to join together and stand up for our rights. I want good service for what I pay or my insurance pays. I pay good money and for what to be treated like I am not important or I don't know what is happening to me or how I feel. I know how I feel. I know when I hurt. I know when somebody is treating me like I am stupit. I know when somebody talks to me like I am a child and telling me I just would not understand. Excuse me. I know more about my Thyroid disease then some doctors it seems. All you have to do is read what others post. They ask a question and the doctor does not even know what they are talking about. This is an outrage to me. Sure they are all specializing in something. I don't expect them to know everything about every disease. But, give me credit for knowing what I am talking about. If a doctor does not know the answer at least tell me that you don't and then try to find the answer. Other wise why are you a doctor ??? Just for the $$$$$$$. I want answers and I know you all do to. I read about that everyday from all of you. So, what can we do about it?????
